Doppelgänger
There's a mystery I must solve,
Before in the mist it dissolves.
Around and round it I revolve,
And before my eyes it evolves.
That enigma assumes your shape,
Your foggy figure assembles.
In the middle of a dreamscape,
Appears a soul who resembles
Someone familiar. A friend, maybe even me.
Certainly, I have found the awaited answer,
And my mirrored image presents me with the key
To his sweet secret self, to my Doppelgänger.
So we commence to fuse, in a soft synthesis,
In an ethereal, serene symbiosis.
'Till you slowly, calmly dissolve.
'Till your complete dissipation.
And I'm unable to absolve
The world of your disparition.
Powerless, I'm forced to witness
The last breath of an artless smile.
With the silence of my likeness,
And no more mystery that's worthwhile,
I meander somewhere remote,
Alone, with no place to call home.
My numb flesh somehow keeps afloat,
And I roam. And I roam and roam.
Endlessly
